Dear Friends,
The end of summer is here and school begins on Monday, August 24th, in Texas. Now is the time to start preparing for the fall and those upcoming holidays! Here at Bonnie Blue Quilts we have already begun preparing for the Fall Market with new quilts in the works, finishing our quilt for Web Sampler Celebration which will begin on September 15th and unpacking all the new collections for the fall. We also have begun making new quilts of some of our older patterns but best sellers. Look for "re-do's" of our quilts Stars Over Ft. Sumter, Flowers for Clara and a new Glory Bound just to name a few.
Here's a sampling of one of the blocks from Stars Over Ft. Sumter made by our dear friend, Kathy Johnson. The quilt is quite stunning in deep pinks, browns and taupes. Watch for this beautiful new quilt to appear on our website in the near future. Here’s a sneak preview of the fabrics we used in this new quilt.
Recently added to the website are two re-do's of old favorites, Civil War Tribute and Savannah. Civil War Tribute uses Windham Fabrics' collection, Civil War VI and is great for that special man in your life. See a small version of the quilt on the left.
Marcus Fabrics just introduced a new fabric collection, Cotillion, designed by Faye Burgos that we used for a new "Savannah" quilt. Faye Burgos offers just-right colors and patterns for sophisticated “blended” quilts and decorative home accents. Beautiful bouquets combine with paisleys, stripes and coordinates for a refined, complete look.
Mary Ellen is sewing non-stop to finish our new quilts for the Fall Market in Houston. Paula has been developing new fabric collections, designing new quilts and all the web sampler blocks for the program that begins September 15th. She is currently doing lectures and workshops in both Florida and Louisiana. Marcie has been adding fabrics and news to our website as fast as it arrives. Listed below are some of the new collections including Paula's new fabric line, Bonnie Blue's America for Marcus Fabrics. This collection of rich deep reds, navy blues and browns are beautiful. Included in this new collection is a very unique fabric with an eagle and star motif. Check out the small sample above.
Introduced earlier this year at Spring Market are our new patterns and kits for “Cabin Creek”, “Grace”, “Promised Land”, Nellie’s Wedding Quilt”, and “Lee’s Lexington” which are now available for ordering on our website. You are going to love these new designs, “Nellie’s Wedding Quilt” and “Lee’s Lexington” each feature one of Paula’s collections.
Traveling to quilt shows is a major part of our business. Because we don’t have a brick and mortar store, these shows provide us with the opportunity to meet and spend some time with our customers and you get to see at least two of the faces behind Bonnie Blue Quilts. We’ve been to a lot of shows so far this year, but there are still a lot of places to go. Check out our Events page to see where we will be next. If you have the opportunity to attend one of these shows, please stop by and say hello. We love to meet our customers and hear about the Bonnie Blue quilts that you’ve created. Bring pictures (of the quilts, but grandchildren may also be shared – as long as we get to share too)!
Thank you for being a Bonnie Blue Quilts customer.
Happy Quilting .....
Marcie, Mary Ellen and Paula
