Bonnie Blue Quilts
Bonnie Blue Quilts began as an online business in the Spring of 2005 because three close friends shared a passion for the fabric and quilts of the 19th Century. Traveling across the country to various quilt shows was quickly added as a means of bringing our patterns and quilt kits to our customers.
We love vintage and reproduction quilts and our goal is to provide our customers with a wide selection of carefully chosen vintage and reproduction fabrics to complete the one-of-a-kind quilts designed by Paula Barnes exclusively for Bonnie Blue Quilts. Using antique quilts as her inspiration, Paula designs traditional timeless quilts that are then pieced by Mary Ellen Robison. Paula's designs are reproductions of actual antique quilts or are inspired by them. We hope that as you browse through our website, you will find both pattern and fabric that will inspire you to complete a vintage treasure of your own.
Our business has grown immensely over the past five years and with growth and time comes change. Our goal of having a fabric line was achieved with the debut of Paula’s Bonnie Blue Basics and Backgrounds in the summer of 2008 with Marcus Fabrics. Since then, Paula has designed many other beautiful collections.
Traveling to quilt shows brought us face to face with our online customers, but we needed a way to meet all of them. In June 2009, we launched our blog, Bonnie Blue Banter that is written by Mary Ellen.
A recent change in June 2010 has been Marcie’s relocation to Austin, TX and the reforming of Bonnie Blue Quilts as a partnership of two.
Change is part of a business’ growth and so Bonnie Blue Quilts will continue to change. We have exciting things on the horizon and we look forward to sharing them with you.
